Noise Measurement, Control and Hearing Conservation

Larry has an extensive background in the field of noise and hearing conservation. He has served as a member of the Canadian Standards Association's Z107 Acoustics and Noise Control Committee, and Subcommittee on Industrial Noise. While on staff at I.A.P.A., he presented regularly-scheduled "Noise & Hearing Conservation" seminars. He has completed numerous noise testing projects over the years, assisting companies with reducing worker exposures to noise, providing effective hearing protection programs, as well as with assisting organizations with office noise concerns.

Larry uses the latest noise measurement instrumentation technology (integrating sound level meter, dosimeter, octave band analysis) to determine worker exposures and noise control techniques. As an engineer, he is able to make recommendations for engineering controls to reduce workplace noise and improve office privacy. Larry is also able to effectively train workers and supervisors regarding the hazards of noise and the proper selection, use and care of hearing protectors.
